We're looking for two local artists to design the marathon artwork for the 2024 and 2025 events! If you can tell a story about the Kanku-Breakaways or local country in your painting, get in touch with us.
This is commissioned artwork - we will pay for your painting. After you deliver it to us, we will frame and hang it for others to enjoy.
What we need
We need a painting on canvas, approximately 750cm X 750cm. We'll be using it on our event t-shirts, prizes and marketing. The successful artists will be invited to review and approve the design of the t-shirts and trophies featuring their artwork.
What you need to do
It's simple! Fill out the Expression of Interest form, send us an email or text message with your details. We'd also like to see photos of 2 or 3 paintings that you've done previously.
Event artists
Our first artist for the 2021 event was Natalie Austin. We were delighted to have Natalie attend the marathon event and present the winners with their trophies. Participants were thrilled to meet Natalie in person and thank her for her beautiful design.
Maureen Williams was announced as the 2022 event artist. Maureen has a strong connection to the Breakaways and we are looking forward to seeing her artwork on all our promotional material and merchandise.
Shirley Williams is the 2023 event artist. Shirley has a strong family connection to the Breakaways - previous Artist, Maureen Williams is her Aunt - her artwork is featuring on all our promotional material and merchandise.
